Directions
Gary's South Shore Air Show is located on the beaches of Marquette Park in the Miller area of Gary, Indiana. There is no public parking available at the beach, however there is a FREE Shuttle Bus Service to transport you to the Air Show from three (3) designated FREE Parking locations and one (1) paid parking location. Shuttles will run continuously to and from all four parking locations from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Official Parking Lot - Majestic Star Casinos & Hotel
The official parking location for Gary's South Shore Air Show is the Majestic Star Casinos and Hotel. It is located at 1 Buffington Harbor Drive, Gary, IN. Once you enter the Majestic Star grounds, follow the signs to the designated FREE air show parking area, and a shuttle will take you to Marquette Park.

To Majestic Star from I-90/Skyway:
Take Skyway/Tollway east to Indiana. Exit at Cline Avenue East. Take Cline Avenue East to Columbus Drive/Chicago Ave - Exit 6A. Exit at Columbus Drive. Make a left at the light and you will enter Buffington Harbor.To Majestic Star from I-80/94/Borman Expressway:
Take I-80/94 east to Indiana. Exit at Cline Avenue North. Exit at Industrial Blvd/Columbus Drive - Exit 6. Make a left at the light. Make a right at the first light just under the overpass. At the next light, make another right to enter Buffington Harbor.
Parking Locations along U.S. 20
There are two FREE parking locations located along U.S. 20 in Gary. Click here for a map of these two parking lots. There is FREE shuttle service from both parking lots to the air show. Directions to these two lots are as follows.
From the East: Take I-90 (Indiana Toll Road), I-80 or I-94 West and exit on Route 51 North/Ripley St. Continue North until it dead-ends at US 20. There is a designated parking lot on the NE corner of that Intersection, and another lot down the street if you turn left (west) on US 20 along the left-hand side of the road.
From the West:Take I-90 (Indiana Toll Road) East towards Gary and take Exit 17, for I-65, US12/20. Pay the $.15 toll, and follow directional signs for US12/20 EAST. Continue east for approximately 2 miles, and park in either of the lots specially marked for Air Show Parking along US 20 located just past Lake Street in Miller.
*Please note: Due to road construction, I-65 is CLOSED between I-80/94 and US 12/20 both northbound and southbound. Check this map for detour information.
From the South (Detour routes for I-65):
I-65 Northbound to U.S. 12/20 – Take the I-80/94 East exit from I-65. Follow I-80/94 East to IN 51/Ripley St. Exit 15B. Continue on North on IN 51/Ripley St. for one mile. Turn left onto U.S. 12/20. Follow signs to parking lots.I-65 Southbound from U.S. 12/20 – Take U.S. 12/20 East. Turn right onto IN 51/Ripley St. Follow IN 51/Ripley St. for one mile. Take the ramp to I-80/94 West. Use exit 10 for IN-53/Broadway to turn around and head east on I-80/94. Exit I-80/94 at I-65 Exit 12A. (The exit from westbound I-80/94 to southbound I-65 is closed)
West Beach Parking
Parking is available at West Beach at the Indiana Dunes. National Park Service parking fees apply ($6.00 per car). FREE shuttle service from West Beach to the air show is available.
Miller Residents
A FREE shuttle will run along Oak Street for residents of the Miller section of Gary. The shuttle will have stops at the following streets: Warren, Vanderburg, Shelby, Ripley & Pike.
By Train
Take NICTD's South Shore/South Bend rail line from as far west as Chicago or as far east as South Bend and exit at the Miller Depot. There will be a shuttle bus to meet train travelers at the train stop at the scheduled stop times. Please visit the South Shore Line website for information and schedules.
By Boat
Boats are welcome to anchor in the vicinity of the air show site. All watercrafts must follow the instructions and rules of the U.S. Coast Guard and City of Gary Police & Fire Departments.
Wheelchair Accessibility
Wheelchair accessible shuttles will be available at all three parking areas. When you arrive at Marquette Park, follow the signs to the area reserved for patrons in wheelchairs.
Gary/Chicago International Airport
Parking is available at the Gary/Chicago International Airport during the air show on Saturday and Sunday if you would like to watch the planes take off and land. Parking is $5.00 for cars and $10.00 for RVs. Parking is prohibited along Industrial Highway. Firearms, fireworks, alcohol, and pets are prohibited on airport property. There is NO shuttle service from the airport parking lot to the air show at Marquette Park.
